An Experience of Working at LPS: Diversity, Values, and Humanity

By Thomas Daouda Diouf
My name is Thomas Daouda Diouf. I am originally from Senegal, and I have been part of the LPS Architecture & Gestion Inc. team for a few months now. My journey has taken me through various professional and cultural environments, and each step has taught me to appreciate the richness of human diversity. But it is at LPS that I discovered a company culture where this diversity is truly valued.
A Genuine Welcome
From my very first steps at LPS, I felt a unique atmosphere, driven by a rare and sincere open-mindedness. Here, everyone is welcomed as they are, with their identity, values, culture, and faith. It is a company where every belief and every affiliation is embraced, and that touched me deeply. This climate of inclusion is not just for show: it is lived every day.
In Senegal, where I come from, interfaith dialogue between Muslims and Christians is an integral part of our culture. It is a fundamental principle that has allowed us to live together in peace and mutual respect. We have never experienced a major religious or ethnic crisis because we have always put humanity at the center, valuing listening, dialogue, and tolerance.
And it is precisely this vision that I find at LPS.
A Social and Urban Mission
LPS is a firm founded in 2018, offering architecture and project management services, mainly for corporate and institutional clients in the Montreal metropolitan area. But beyond its mandates, LPS carries an ambitious mission: to use architecture as a lever to build a more prosperous, just, and humane society.

The company is built on three fundamental values:
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Service
But for me, there is a fourth value, implicit but essential: humanity. This humanity is felt in our interactions, in the way projects are conducted, and in the respect for the balance between the individual, family, and work.
A Balance That Helps You Grow
This respect for personal balance is one of LPS’s great strengths. Here, we understand that we are more than employees: we are whole human beings, with lives, needs, and values. This vision, based on the trilogy of individual-family-work, allows everyone to thrive without sacrificing any part of themselves.
In my current role, I feel listened to, supported, and valued. I am trusted, encouraged to propose ideas, take initiative, and keep learning. I grow every day, not only professionally but also as a person.
Gestures That Leave a Mark
Among the moments that deeply moved me was the evening when our colleague Kamel joyfully announced the sale of a house he owned in Algeria. For him, it was not just a personal matter: he wanted to share his joy with the whole team, without distinction. He invited us to dinner at his own initiative and expense, simply for the pleasure of celebrating together. This gesture of generosity and sharing deeply inspired me. It alone represents the LPS spirit.

Another thing that impresses me is that, despite our 100% remote work, I have never felt isolated. At any time, you can call a colleague, here or elsewhere, to ask a question, seek advice, share an emotion, or simply chat. There is a constant human presence, even at a distance. This closeness, this accessibility, is what makes our company culture so warm and strong.
Values That Build More Than Buildings
Leadership at LPS is the ability to inspire by example, not to impose through hierarchy. Professionalism is the care given to every action, every word, every project. And Service is a sincere desire to act for the collective good, to create healthy and sustainable living spaces for happier and more connected communities.
When these values are combined with a deeply inclusive culture, it creates a workplace capable of transforming human trajectories—like mine—and, through them, changing the world, one gesture at a time.
A Close-Knit Team Despite the Distance
At LPS, geographical distance creates no emotional barriers. I feel connected to my colleagues, my team, my managers. There is always someone to talk to, someone ready to help, listen, and understand.

This daily solidarity is all the more precious because it is based on genuine relationships. It is not just about collaborating, but about living a shared human experience, based on empathy, respect, and mutual recognition.e help our clients realize their architectural vision more efficiently and effectively.
Towards a Common Future
What I wish for today is to continue evolving within LPS, to keep learning, to contribute more, and to embody the values I share with this wonderful company. I sincerely believe that a place like LPS is a model for the workplace of tomorrow: a world where we build together, with respect, equity, and kindness.
At LPS, we build much more than projects: we build bridges between cultures, we create trust, we sow hope.
And I am proud to be part of it.
“Respect for others is the first pillar of a peaceful world. At LPS, this truth is lived every day.”
